Exhibitor proposals are now open. Thank you for your patience and understanding. The theme of the conference is "This Path is Made by Walking” which honours the many and various paths we take on our different journeys in mathematics education. During the conference delegates will explore paths including differentiated instruction, assessment, mathematical processes, learning tools, curriculum connections, social justice, research, and professional development models. It is our hope that the conference will assist and encourage delegates as they move forward in their journey. We would like to invite you to participate in the conference by creating a display/exhibit to showcase your products in line with our theme. If you would like to submit a proposal, please apply online at http://www.oame.on.ca/mcis/index.php. At that time, you will be able to select your position in the conference centre on a first-come-fist-serve basis, subject to approval. Our space is limited, so it is to your advantage to submit a proposal early. Please ensure that your cheques are set to: Leslie
Burchat For your power requirements please complete the following form and fax it to Ada Fung at fax number (905) 882-3100. We would also like for you to consider sponsoring our conference in some capacity. Options will be available online at the time you submit your proposal. Proposals should connect to one or more themes of the conference as well as reflect the vision of OAME/AOEM: OAME envisions a learning environment where all students do, see, hear, and touch mathematics in a profound and meaningful way. Our association sees the classroom as a community where teachers and students work collaboratively to learn and value mathematics. In such a classroom, students engage in meaningful mathematical experiences through the use of concrete materials and manipulatives, visuals, technology, and other resources. Students build on their prior knowledge of key mathematical concepts and connect these concepts to their world. Teachers use a variety of strategies that accommodate different learning styles and use resources to develop the investigative process in mathematics. The learning of mathematics is supported through the active and ongoing involvement of students, parents, educators, and the community at large. The exhibits committee will review all applications and respond by Fall, 2007. |
