Welcome to OAME. The Ontario Association for Mathematics Education is the professional organization for everyone interested in Mathematics Education in Ontario. Our mission is to promote, support, and advocate for excellence in mathematics education throughout the Province of Ontario. For more about OAME, check out our Vision for Learning Mathematics.

OAME/AOEM and all of their professional learning opportunities, including the OAME/AOEM Annual Conference, are not funded in any way by the Ministry of Education or any Boards of Education. If further clarification is required, please contact your local federation office.

Do you know a math department or an elementary staff who collaborates to make significant contributions toward student learning of mathematics?
Do you know an individual, not necessarily an educator, who has made a significant contribution to OAME or mathematics in Ontario?

New OAME/AOEM Position Paper on De-streaming/De-tracking now available

The OAME/AOEM executive has approved the Destreaming/De-tracking Math Position Statement which has now been published on the OAME website.

The Ontario Association for Mathematics Education is creating position statements on a variety of topics related to mathematics teaching and learning. As they are approved by the OAME/AOEM Executive they will be made available. link ...

OAME 2022 Virtual Conference

The OAME 2022 annual conference is now open for PRE-REGISTRATION. Registering now guarantees your spot in the conference, which includes keynotes by Peter Liljedahl and Matt Parker. The conference in 2022 will once again be fully virtual, this time spread over two weeks, two days each week for maximum flexibility. Session Proposals are still being accepted (until Dec 30th), and Full Registration will be available in February 2022. link ...

mathies Fraction Strips app - now available in HTML5 !

The third of three HTML5 mathies apps being developed is now available! Check out the Fraction Strips app which will work in all browsers on all devices. Since Flash has been phased out of existence on most modern browsers this new version has been eagerly anticipated. The iOS and Android versions are still available for download from their respective app stores, though this new HTML5 version will also work in their mobile browsers.

As of October 31st, the final lessons and webinars have now been posted and are available to all from the website.

OAME/AOEM continues to strive to support Ontario's mathematics teachers. Here are some of the supports that you may want to visit to help you as you plan the coming scholastic year:
